Witness the Majesty: Hike to Crabtree Falls Guide

Crabtree Falls is a spectacular cascading waterfall located near Little Switzerland, North Carolina. Plunging over 70 feet, it's a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. The moderate hike to the falls offers stunning views of the surrounding forest and the falls themselves. The cool mist from the falls provides a refreshing respite, especially during the warmer months. While the falls themselves are a natural formation, the surrounding area has a history of logging and agriculture. The trail leading to the falls was developed to provide access for visitors and to protect the natural environment. The name "Crabtree" is believed to be derived from the abundance of crabapple trees that once grew in the area. The primary activity at Crabtree Falls is hiking to the base of the falls. The trail is approximately 2.6 miles roundtrip and is considered moderately challenging due to some steep sections and rocky terrain. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water. Photography is also a popular activity, as the falls provide a stunning backdrop.
